Cyanide
Cyanide (CN) is a simple compound of carbon and nitrogen, which we face in every day life.
Toxic effects of Sodium Cyanide
- It does not accumulate in organisms.
- Exposure to high levels of cyanide chemical results in acute toxic effect.
- Cyanide does not cause cancer.
- It is decomposed naturally by sunlight, plants and bacteria and separated into compounds.

Cyanide used in the industry is obtained from hydrogen cyanide gas. 1.4 million tons of hydrogen gas is produced annually in the world. 1.2 million tons of this which is 87% are used in the industry. Remaining 200 thousand tons are used in the mining.
