CUKURALAN GOLD MINE
Cukuralan Gold Mine, 40km away from Ovacik Gold Mine is situated between Ayvalik and Dikili towns, north of Izmir. Significant amounts of gold production of Koza Gold Operations are obtained from the ore mined in Cukuralan.
Mineralization formed in two main veins at Cukuralan Gold Mine is low sulphite epithermal deposit.
Open pit production has commenced in 2010 and underground production in 2011 at Cukuralan Gold Mine. Cut and Fill method is used in underground production as in Ovacik Gold Mine. Produced ore is transported to Ovacik Gold Mine for processing.
Monthly average open pit production is 110 thousand tones. By the end of 2014, open pit production will be carried out by interior dumping method. Currently exterior dumping method is being used
Using Cut and Fill method, 170 thousand tonnes of ore are produced annually. Reinforcement is done by applying shotcrete and rock bolts.
Ore mined in Cukuralan Operations is processed at Ovacik Gold Mine plant.
